Hello, guys. My friend was on CT several days ago and it appears that he was found a craniopharyngioma. This sounds really exotic to me and I am very eager to find out what it is. I was hoping someone from here could help me. If you know anything regarding this matter, I would like to ask you to share the information with me. Thanks in advance.

Hello. It isn’t easy to explain what craniopharyngioma is. It is a slow-growing tumor which is calcified. It is made of remains of craniopharyngeal duct and/or Rathke cleft. It occupies suprasellar region. They have benign histology, but malignant behavior. They can invade local structures and recur after the removal. Headache is the most common symptom. Endocrine dysfunction and visual problems may appear as well. I hope your friend will be all right. Bye!
