Recently I asked my mother about our family history and we realized that I have a big chance to get some heart disease. Well, I know that I can not do anything about that. But I heard that I can prevent cardiac risk factors. First, can somebody tell me what are cardiac risk factors?
Factors that increase your risk of coronary artery disease include some you can't control and several that you can. You can control or prevent these factors: high blood cholesterol and high blood pressure, smoking cigarette and tobacco, overweight and obesity, and diabetes. If you have a personal history of heart disease, there are treatments that can reduce the risk.
