Hi, my sister is diagnosed with hypothyroidism. She doesn’t have enough energy, looks pale and is always cold. What are the main hypothyroid symptoms?

Hypothyroidism is affecting 3-5% of the adult population. It is more frequently seen in women than in men. Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, an autoimmune condition is mostly responsible for the disease. Symptoms of hypothyroidism can vary from mild to severe, and in every person some different symptom may develop, depending on amount of thyroid hormone missing. Most common symptoms of hypothyroidism are: tiredness and weakness; weight gain or difficulty losing weight, constipation, depression, thinning of the hair, cold intolerance, sleepiness, impaired memory, decreased libido.
