Please, can somebody tell me What are prognosis after bypass surgery? I’m desperate. My father needs to have bypass surgery. I’m so afraid that I don’t know what to do. Some people told me that it’s nothing too dangerous. But I know that bypass surgery is very serious and complicate. Thanks!

Yes, you have right. Bypass surgery is a major operation. It can be serious. In a relatively young patient who has no underlying diseases such as diabetes, the risk of bypass surgery is small. I read somewhere that the surgery can be carried out with overall risk of 1% to 2% of anything untoward happening.
