Hello, my mother has problems with high pressure; she is over weighted and smokes a lot. When she went to see a doctor because of the coughing, he told her that the risk of brain infarct is very much increased because of developed arteriosclerosis that affected great number of arteries. He also mentioned vascular dementia. What are risk factors for vascular dementia?

When we talk about those risk factors for that condition, we have to mention arteriosclerosis, tendency for that illness, brain conditions related to vascular net etc. It is very important for her to loose some weight and to stop smoking. She must also take medications that are used for “cleaning” the blood vessels. You have to convince her to change her life completely.
