| I would like to say that my retirement days are bored and full of rest, but it is not so. My husband, 66 years old has just been diagnosed with monocytic leukemia. I hope that he will be all right, although I am not so sure how he got that. Anyway, can you tell me about the signs of this condition? All I have noticed is shortness of breath, although he was never in a good shape. |

| Well, shortness of breath is a sign of that disease, but there are also weaknesses, easy bleeding, and of course a blood test that will show decreased red blood cells level and normal white blood cells. As for the treatment, usually chemotherapy is used and sometimes bone marrow transplantation is required too. |
