Hello, I am 37 years old and I have no ongoing illnesses, so far. But my friend has been diagnosed with SLE and I can see how it is painful for her. Her symptoms are fever, arthritis and it seems like that she has pericarditis too. Can you tell me What are the factors that contribute to SLE?

Well, unfortunately there hasn’t been any valid proof about what exactly causes this auto immune disease. In that case, it is safe to say that there are many possible factors, including hereditary factor, viruses, genes, illnesses etc. As for the prognosis, I can say that it is getting more and more positive, although you have already realized that it is far from an easy condition.
