HI. I’m thinking to start using serequel so I’m interested in side effects I might experience. Did anyone here try it??? What were your experiences??? Thanks.

Hi, i've been using Serequel since 2000 in combination with Prozac. My diagnosis is Severe Mental Depression with Psycosis. I live comfortable on a structured lifestyle with minimum exposure to stressful situations.

Over the past couple of years, I found myself blood spotting when oxygenation in the blood flow is restricted. For example, high altitudes and airplanes. Increasing or decreasing dosage is always very carefully paced.

Avoid it like the plauge. It has caused Spleen Problems, Liver Problems, and Diabetes.

Surely your doctor can help you find a better medication than Seroquil.

i was diagnosed with pesonality disorder(none other specified, in other words, i have no core personality) about 3 months ago. i am 22 years old and also have insomnia. i was prescribed zoloft for the so-called depression, but it actually made me feel better, it took about a month, but i feel wonderful now! i am maxed out on it too though at 200mg per day, but i am truly happy now. i was also prescribed serequel at 100mg per night before bed for my insomnia. it works like a charm for keeping me asleep that is. only because of the zoloft do i not feel so groggy in the mornings i still feel like a million bucks. i do occasionally in the first part of the day feel a little out of the loop so to say, but other than that i love this combination of zoloft and serequel, its perfect. i recommend even those people without any type of depression or panic disorders to take this drug, at a low prescription of course though. i do wonder sometimes from reading other people stories though, if some of the long term effect swill happen to me, but for now its working magic, hope i was of some use to you all, thank you.

I have been taking serequel on and off for a little over a year. Mostly off. It was given to me as a sleep aid. It has qaused me to gain wieght, feel groggy most of the following day and VERY recently I have started to hallucinate. Before taking this med you are supposed to have your eyes checked, liver checked and a glucose tolerence test, none of which my Dr. has ordere. I have a vist today and am getting off of this drug. The side effects far out wiegh the benefits. Good luck to any who is using this drug.

I have been taking Serequel for about 5 years now. I take it for debilitating anxiety attacks, PTSD and Boderline Personality disorder. This medicine does Not make me feel high, just normal, which is a very good feeling. It has freed me from the way I used to feel. I now have a job, home etc. and I am not afraid of driving anymore.
The serequel makes me a bit sleepy at night, but not so much anymore. I did gain weight with this med but nothing like the Zyprexa I was on for a year. I am a bit over weight, but nothing serious. I do however have to watch my intake of sweets, as I developed a major sweet-tooth after being on this med. I have no organ damage or liver problems from it, and no diabetes ( thank God). The only BAD side-effect is that my bottom teeth all need to come out, which I am in the process of doing right now. I always had very beautiful teeth and took care of them good. It is a side-effect that people on Serequel don't really know. Believe me, it's a real side-effect, and not from lack of brushing etc...
I know a 28 year old man, that I previously worked with, that is going through the same exact thing as I ! He had beautiful teeth, and is trying the root-canal method to save his teeth, which now have to be pulled out ! It's alot of pain to go through, believe me...In fact today I was at my dentist after work, and I had my 4 lower front teeth removed, and I am in agony now. Whoever reads this, please make sure you pay attention to your teeth, before it happens to you. Not many people know about this bad side-effect.
The only reason I am not going to change this med, is that it works for me, after many years of suffering that kept me a prisoner in my home, and afraid to work etc... Please write me anytime..dar

Im schizophrenic and clinicaly depressed,i have been on serequel for 2 years now and had no side affects.I will admit, the first few weeks were torture, sleeping up to 16 hours, hunger pangs during the night, this all eased off after a while,i have never heard of liver nor spleen damage.i am on 850mg a day as well as efexor xl for depression and another anti-phycotic called chlopromazine, this is because i have audio and visual hallucinations on a daily basis, and i will admit that these drugs are helping me well.I know deep in my heart that if i dont take them,i will have severe thought of suicide.but, thats just me.You have to remember, everybody is diffrent. It all depends on how you handle it,and make ure you drink plenty water, this is what stops internal organs from being damaged with such a drug.If you are on a medium to high does of the medication then you should be drinking at least 4 litres of water a day,i know it sounds alot but its better for your inside's and keep back from too much dairy products. If you are unsure, then ask your doc all the questions you have to,that's what they are paid for. Confused

I have a bi-polar disorder. My psychiatrist has taught me to watch out for the onset of a high by monitoring my sleep pattern. For me, if I start to get below 7 hours a day for 3 days in a row, I take 1 x Serequel 25mg before going to bed. I am asleep within 20 minutes and get exactly 8 hours sleep. I awake refreshed, no hangover, no other side affectes that I am aware of.
In my opinion this is a GOD send for me. I am now managing to stop my highs from escalating. I usually only need to take Serequel for 3 or 4 days and than stop and see how I sleep after that. I have not had a major episode now in 7 years thanks to my psychiatrist and Seroquel
