Hello, my father has some heart problems which occurred after several stressful situations that happened. He thought that it will pass after a while, but they didn’t. He started feeling chest pain, started coughing, breathing difficulties occurred. I would like to know what are the symptoms of left ventricular failure. My friend told me that he might have that condition.

My mother had a similar condition and I can tell you that those symptoms you mentioned could point to left ventricular failure. Still, you will not know for sure until detailed examination is performed. That will also help doctor determine what would be the best type of therapy for him. He might use medications, and sometimes even surgery is required.
