What can be taken to reduce fatigue and muscle cramps in ALS patient? My father is 67 years old and he has been an ALS patient for almost 6 moths now. It all started with minor spasms and twitches, but the regular medical check up brought us sad news. Now he is trying with physical therapy, but it does not seem to work. Do you have any advice?

My father had passed away last year, after 7 years of being ALS patient. I think that there is a possibility that your father is slowly giving up. He is not that young anymore, and it could be possible that his spirit is breaking. As for muscle cramps, there are medications to help him with that, but still, physical therapies (exercises) are the best way for him to preserve muscle strength. Try to talk to him, please.
