My cousin had a car accident and now he is in hospital. He got a skull fracture but his doctor hopes that he will be fine very soon because it’s noting so serious. Still, all my family is worried. Can somebody tell me, please, What can skull fracture indicate? Thank you!

I read somewhere that fractures, especially at the back and bottom of the skull, can tear the meninges, the layers of tissue that cover the brain. Bacteria occasionally enter the skull through fractures, causing infection and severe brain damage. And also some kind of skull fractures may seriously damage the brain.
