Hello! My brother has a son who has been recently diagnosed autism. We noticed his problems months ago but his doctor recommended “watch and see” strategy and then after six months performed the needed tests. There is no one in our family with such kind of disorder and I really don’t know how this happened. What causes autism?

Hello! It is known that autism has no single cause. It seems to be related to abnormalities in several regions of the brain and a number of gene defects. Children with symptoms of autism have a higher than normal risk of also having mental retardation, tuberous sclerosis and epilepsy. Some people believe autism is caused by vaccines no firm link between vaccines and autism has been found so far.
