Hi, I am 27 years old and my sister has problem with sudden changes of her mood. I would like to know something more about it and mood stabilizers which her doctor prescribed to her. If anyone had similar experiences feel free to share it with me. Thank you very much.

Hi, every person has mood changes and it is quite normal. Unfortunately some of us have too big amplitudes in their mood so it has to be corrected with medications. Mood stabilizers are medications which are modulating it. It suppress swings between mania and depression. Lithium is the oldest medication of this type.
