| Hi, my father is 76 years old and has just been diagnosed with diabetes mellitus. And honestly, I cannot recall that he exaggerated with food, alcohol, or unhealthy life. So, I am concerned that it might be something hereditary. What can I do to prevent getting diabetes mellitus? Will correction of food diet have any effect diabetes prevention? |

| Well, it is known that in some cases, no means of prevention will stop the illness. Unfortunately, that was the case with your father, and there is certain percent of risk that it might happen to you too. So, you should correct your eating habits, it will surely help, but it cannot guarantee you a complete illness prevention. |
