What happens if you have both of your adrenal glands removed?

Please, can somebody give me some information that is very important for me. My dad has Cushing's disease and yesterday his doctor told him that he will need to go to surgery. They must remove his both adrenal glands. Tell me What happens if you have both of your adrenal glands removed? Thanks!

Unfortunately, sometimes if others treatments aren't effective, both adrenal glands may have to be removed. I know that any person who has had both adrenal glands removed must take corticosteroids for life. Some of these people may develop Nelson's syndrome. In this condition a pituitary tumor develops and it can be treated with radiation or surgical removal of the pituitary gland.
