My friend is a vegetarian. She thinks that vegetarian diet is the healthiest diet. She thinks that I need to try with it. I’m not sure about that because I heard that diet can cause certain health problems. Is it truth? What health problems could I be having while I'm on vegetarian diet?
First, vegetarians risk vitamin B12 deficiency, which can result in irreversible nerve deterioration. They also may have inadequate vitamin D and calcium. Inadequate vitamin D may cause rickets in children, while inadequate calcium can contribute to risk of osteoporosis in later years. To be healthful, vegetarian diets require very careful, proper planning.
