What if I'm allergic to chloramphenicol?

I think I have conjunctivitis. My older sister has it also and her doctor prescribed to her chloramphenicol. Probably it will be prescribed to me also. But I have never before use this medication. What if I'm allergic to chloramphenicol? And how will I know that I’m allergic to it?

Well, I think you will have some symptoms right after you take chloramphenicol for the first time. I remember my allergic reaction on this medication. I has rush all over my body and I stopped to use it. Sometimes people can start swelling a lot but sometimes reaction may be more serious.
