I heard how my parents were talking about my grandpa and his illness. He has some serious illness, I think it’s carotid arterial stenosis. I don’t know what it is. I think that it’s very dangerous because my parents don’t want to tell me anything. So can somebody explain what is Carotid arterial stenosis?

The carotid arteries are the main arteries in the neck that supply blood to the brain. Carotid artery stenosis is the narrowing of the carotid arteries. It occurs when the arteries become clogged with fatty deposits. Carotid artery stenosis is a major risk factor for stroke. It can usually be treated with surgery.
