What is HTV? Family member has it but knows nothing of it

a family member has recently learned she has HTV, but no one knows what it is. In fact we've done a search a have found nothing other then it's the male that carries the disease and has no way of knowing he has it until he transmits it to the female and she goes in for a papsmear. so please help with what ever information you have or can find, Thank you all so much

The name is HPV aka human papillomavirus. There are over 60 types of this virus and different types cause different symptoms. Some strains cause genital warts while others have been linked to cervical cancer if not treated on time.

Your friend should follow her doctor's orders and maybe even get a second opinion to make sure she has HPV as some doctors may misdiagnose them.
