What is Ischemic heart disease?

Hello, I would like to hear something about ischemic heart disease. My father is 51 years old and he has started having some heart issues and doctor mentioned that it might be ischemic heart disease, but he cannot be sure until some further tests are done. So, what is that condition and what are possible treatments?

Ischemic heart disease is actually angina pectoris which is manifested with chest pain that can last for different periods (5-30 minutes). Regarding the duration of the pain there are three types of angina pectoris: stabile, unstable, and spastic type. As for treatment, medicaments have to be used, but there is also catheterization as a possible solution.
