I often hear term ‘bulged disc’ but am not absolutely sure what it means. Is it medical term or not? Is bulged disc same condition like herniated disc? I’m 25 and sometimes have low back pain because of bad posture and poor physical condition. I spend much time sitting. So, please tell me what exactly bulged disc means?

Terms like bulged disc, herniated disc or pinched nerve are used in description of radiographic findings seen on MRI or CT scans. These findings are not enough for making complete clinical diagnosis and determining the source of pain. You can find images that very precisely show differences between herniated disc, bulged disc, thinned disc and other deformities that are cause of back pain. These are all medical terms and are not synonyms.
