Hi,
I will try to explain you what is lupis.
Lupis is not (sexually) transmited disease- lupis is not contagious, so I supose your fahter doesn't have it.
It is also known, that nine out of ten people that are affected by lupis are women- during the age of 15- 45 lupis strikes women 15 times more frequently than is attacks men. It is also known that lupis can occur at any age or sex, but as I said, more frequent is with women. People of all races have lupis, but lupis is more common in women of Hispanic, Asian, and Native American descent.
No, lupis is not a form of cancer, although is works similar. Lupis is a long-lasting chronic autoimmune disease. Let’s put is that way- for unknown reasons your mother’s immune system became hyperactive and it attacked her normal tissue. This attack results in inflammation. By inflammation I mean elimination of foreign body organisms, such as viruses and prevention of further injury. Signs of inflammation are: warmth, swelling, redness, pain and similar. This signs are usually long- lasting with lupis, than they damage tissue and yes, unfortunately it can lead to a death case. But lupis is not universally fatal disease (as is known for cancer): today with treatment 80-90% of the people with lupis live normally after treatment of lupis. So, please don’t worry for your mother that much.
Since there are four forms of lupis and only one has little higher possibility of death result, I really think you are worried too much, but I understand you- it’s your mother we are talking about.
My suggestion- try talking to your parents- explain them you know for your mother’s case and explain them you are old enough to be equal part of the family so you have the right to know what is going on.
Especially be supportive to your mother.
Hope you are more informed with what is lupis.
And I think everything will work out just fine in your family!

| Hey there... I'm a junior in high school and i'm supposed to be working on a french project right now, but i happened to stumble upon this. My mom got diagnosed with Lupis a two years ago and it has had a pretty dramtic effect on her life (not being able to run, ski, hike was the begining) but now she can hardly walk or get out of bed. She cant work much anymore and had to file for disability. I'm not saying this to scare you, it's just comforting to know that there are other kids out there that are dealing with a loved one having this disease. I have found that I also really dont understand this disease and I am trying to figure it out myself. We are finding ways to cope with and accomodate her illness... I hope that you will also be able to do this. You and your mother and family arent alone in dealing with this disease. I wish you hope and love! |

| i just learned out dr. bob beck's protocol; i haven't tried this myself yet but it seems he's had a lot of success treating lupus, among other things. he's not selling anything, and it's a very inexpensive and unintrusive treatment that you can do in your own home. you might want to check this out, you can find video of his lectures if you search google. hopefully this is helpful! |

I have Lupus. I have known I have it since 1993 when it became active. At first, it drastically changed my life. I could not do a lot of the things I used to do, and I was very upset and depressed that I had it. But, there have been some things I did that have made all the difference for me.
I eat only vegetarian foods now, no meat or seafood and little to no milk products. I take vitamins nearly every single day. I don't go out into the sun and use strong sunscreen when I do have to be in the sun along with a hat. (Yes, people kid me, but I'd rather be healthier than sick.)
I try to avoid stress as much as possible. I do drink soymilk, and eat a lot of soy products for my proteins.
My doctors have me on nonsteroidal anti-inflamitory (non narcotic) medicine and I also take allergy meds (because I do have a lot of allergies. I think the fact I DO have allergies has been a blessing for me because in Lupis, your body attacks itsself in what it seems to be an allergic reaction to its own self.
I have had very few Lupus attacks and have been able to become active again - so much more so than my friends who have Lupus and who do eat meat and go out into the sun to tan and spend a lot of time in the sun.
A lot of people don't want to change eating habits or to avoid sun - but for me, it has made all the difference in the world. My pain level is so much lower and my life is so much better. |

|
|
My bestfirend just recently got diagnosed with Lupus a week ago. This is all very new to her, myself and our friends and family. She just told me 30 minutes ago and all I want to do now is understand and learn as much as I can about this disease Lupus. I found everything on the page to be immensely helpful. Thank you for that!
Question... She got the blood test back and everything and the came out positive. Is there any chance there is a posiblily it's limes disease because her simptoms are quite similar to limes. Anyway on monday she's going to a doctor that specializes in lupus to get a 2nd opinion. And is there a great web site that helps others understand the disease? Thanks for your time! |

My wife was looking at your site to check if my loss of blood to my fingertips after swimming was Lupis. The notce came up saying we were the 1,000,000 th visitor, she , we were very exited, however she closed the window by mistake & could not bring the flashing red notice up again.
Is there a chance we could still claim the win??
Thank you
