Hi, this condition is also sometimes referred to as MCV, Molluscum Contagiosum Virus. It is believed that molluscum (MCV) is caused by a pox virus or a fungus in symbiosis with a pox virus. So, the second theory supports the opinion that the virus is contracted first and this virus acts as a cover for the fungus – disabling body to provide adequate immune response. The actual core of each lesion is estimated to be the most contagious portion of the lesion and is the way how the disease spreads. Molluscum is very difficult to treat like most of the parasites. The major problem remains that it stays undetected by immune system.
