My granddad has some troubles with his lungs. I can tell you exactly what illness it is but it can be dangerous if you leave it untreated. His doctor told him that he needs to be on oxygen therapy for awhile. Can somebody tell me What is oxygen therapy? Thanks!

Oxygen therapy is used to normalize the oxygen level in blood during sleep, rest, activity and during acute illnesses in the hospital. It can assist with the growth and development in children with chronic lung conditions. In adults with chronic lung disease, studies have shown that long-term oxygen therapy has improved quality and length of life.
