My mother is 61 years old and she suffers from prolymphocytic leukemia. Actually, a blood test revealed some problems and it looks like she had this condition for quite some time. I have to say that I am very worried but the doctor said that she might live for many more years without problems. I would like to know what this illness is.
That is actually a type of the CLL – chronic lymphocytic leukemia. This condition usually affects people older than 50 years, and the interesting thing is that symptoms might not show themselves for a long period. And until they do, there is not therapy, no treatment. Although, people with CLL do live longer and without any problems than those with PLL.
