Hello, guys. I got pregnant and tonight my sister is getting married. I think I am expected to drink alcohol, but I am not sure whether I can. What is the safe level of alcohol that a pregnant woman can consume? I am afraid that this might hurt my baby and I wouldn’t like to do that.

Hello. My sister in law says that one glass of wine per week won’t hurt an unborn baby. However, I would advise you to sustain from alcohol while pregnant. Consuming too much alcohol can be fatal for the baby. I have heard something about fetal alcohol syndrome. It is followed by physical defects and mental deficiencies. And these changes are for a lifetime. I would like my baby to experience this. You can cheer with a glass of juice. However, you can consult your obstetrician.
