What leukemia does to the body?

Hello, I have a son who is 7 years old. He was always ill and we thought that it is just his immune system, but it seems that it is something else. He was diagnosed with leukemia. That is something no one on the family had and I would like to know what leukemia does to the body. Will he be ok?

Leukemia is a disease of bone marrow cells. Malign cells start growing uncontrollably – this first affects bone marrow and then lymphatic nodes and after that those cells affect the entire organism by blood system. Depending on the type of leukemia, certain therapy will be set. As for the prognosis, that too will be known only after the true form of leukemia is determined.
