What makes people committ suicide?

I can't understand some things. For example what makes people commit suicide? Two days ago young women from the building has jumped and she had killed. I don't understand what feeling is so powerful to make you decide to end your life? The problem is that woman was a friend of mine. How am I suppose to deal with it?

I hope that you will never understand that. My husband has suffered from depression for a long time. He had tried suicide three times. Last time he died. Depression is very serious illness and those people are not able to fight against that. When I asked him how he feels, he said that he feel like there is nothing bright in his life and that he has nothing to live for. He has left me with two kids.

am 16 and 3 quarters I have depression and i cant seem to get out of it i've been having suicidal thoughts caan any of u help me because i feel like i might do something i might regret because i dont want to hurt my parents by having them to put me in the ground and i dont know what to do i tried everything pills they just made it worse counciling it worked until the my high skool took my counsler away now am back where i started i dont know whats wrong with me i end up waking up everyday wish i had not waken up i dont know how to get rid of it any of you know Question
