What narcoic is the safest to take when you hae Chronic Hep C and Severe Rheumatoid Arthritis?

I am a 49 yo female that has Chronic Hepatitis C Genotype 1A that did a year of therapy. My viral load at the beginning of treatment was 1,650,850 units after a year it was down to 10,000 but they took me off of the therapy and said that I was a non responder. I felt another month would have done it but they wouldn't let me due to my blood work, 1/2 blood count of a normal. I also have Severe polyarticular Rheumatoid Arthritis and take 3 15mg. of generic MS Contin daily. It isn't really doing much for my pain. Is there something else I could take that would be safe for my liver and relieve the pain?
