Hi, guys. My neighbor has been suffering from epilepsy since he was kid. He had very often seizures and that left some consequences to his brain. Cerebral atrophy was recently discovered at him. I would like to know what other diseases may be related to brain atrophy. I will appreciate your replies.

Hello to you too. Cerebral atrophy can be related to many diseases that affects brain. They can be congenital. One of them is Huntington's disease. There is a toxic level of proteins which destroys the neurons from inside. Some of the diseases are not congenital. Those are stroke, brain injuries, infections... Most of them are serious, so brain atrophy is a serious condition. However, I hope your neighbor will be all right, if it is possible. If you want to know anything else, don't hesitate to ask. Bye!
