Hello. My cousin has a brain tumor. The doctors suggested that radiation treatment will be the best option for his case. I would like to know what the amount of radiation is when we talk about brain tumors. I would really appreciate all your replies. Thanks for everything, guys. Good bye!

Hello, there. I am sorry to hear that. High energy X rays are used to kill tumor cells. Radiation therapy is used as addition to chemotherapy or surgery. Recently, in some medical centers, Gamma Knife has been introduced. It isn’t a surgery option. It is highly focal radiation that affects tumor tissue. It doesn’t affect vital parts of surrounding brain tissue. I don’t know the exact doses. Perhaps, someone else will know something more. I hope everything will be better.
