My father is 59 years old and has been suffering from Chrons disease for a while. This condition is manifested with attack episodes and as a result of the last episode he ended up in ER because he had more than 50 stools on that day. He has been using mesalamine and I guess I need to know what side effects I may notice from taking that drug?

This drug is commonly used with sulphasalazine, it can be applied in two ways. Orally, when the dose is released not before the colon. Second way is by enema. Its basic effects are the inhibition of lypoxygenase and prevents the occurrence of leukotriens this is its anti inflammatory effect. Honestly, I never had any serious side effects while using this drug.
