What treatment is used for CLL?

I would like to learn something more about CLL. My father, 57 years old has been diagnosed with this illness several days ago and he was told that it is a severe condition which will progress slowly with time. He did not receive any treatment and I wonder how it is possible since it is severe? What treatment is used for CLL?

Well, you have to be worried but not at the moment. This means that this illness is usually not treated in its early stage but what is most important, that early stage might last even for decades. And that means that your father might have a normal life for a long time. So, as long as there are no symptoms, not therapy is needed, and that is a good thing in this case.
