Hi, my brother is bipolar for several years now. He seams to have cycles with mood swings and depression. I would like to know what triggers those cycles, so I could help him prevent them.

Hi, I am bipolar since I was 17 years old. All this time, I’ve been having problems with sleep, with relationships, friendships and everything I cared for. It is hard to cope with bipolar disorder, and I am glad that you are willing to help your brother. I also have cycles with mood swings and irritability. In my case, those cycles were mostly triggered by changes in my life habits. For example, everything is calm for a week, and than something happens that makes me happy. I feel good for couple of hours, but it soon turnes into depression and sadness. That’s how the cycles are triggered in my case.
