When does Tourette syndrome appears?

Hello, guys. I have been going out with a girl for several months. She is great, but I have noticed from time to time that she touches her nose or smells objects. I think I have heard her once barking. She told me later she had Tourette syndrome. She explained me what it was. I would like to know when this syndrome usually appears.

Hi, there. Usually, Tourette syndrome appears in childhood years. It is the period when the kids are the most vulnerable. They can be an object of ridicule. It is very hard period for them. Try to show understanding for the girl if you care about her. I am sure she didn’t have an easy childhood. They can also feel frustrated and embarrassed. They can have low self-esteem. Their relationships often suffer. I hope yours won’t. Good luck!
