When is Azathioprine used?

I heard that my neigbour need to have a treatment with Azathioprine. I know that Azathioprine is one of the Immunosuppressive drugs and that it used for serious illness. I’m not sure what kind of illness. So I would like to know When is Azathioprine used? Can anybody answer on my question, please?

Yes, you have right. Azathioprine is Immunosuppressive drug and it used to prevent production of antibodies usually after transplantations or to treat patients with autoimmune diseases. As I know, Azathioprine's indications include severe rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune chronic active hepatitis and systemic lupus erythematosus. I think it’s very effective and pretty safe.
