When will I see results from my fusion?

Hi. I had Anterior cervical fusion on C5-C7 and I`m home now. I was feeling pain while in hospital and I couldn`t wait to get home. However, I still feel discomfort. When will I see results from my fusion?

Hi. It is normal to have pains after the surgery. I was on meds to control pain after my fusion. I am on home recovery too and these things take time. The recovery process is slow, but it`s the way things are. I was in the hospital for two days. Then I went home. I was recommended walking (short trips only). My doctor told me to first walk to the bathroom, and later out into the corridor. This is really a short trip, but I can`t do better anyway. Take a shower, relax. Your doc will determine when you can return to normal life activities and with what limitations.
