| I have the same problem and I am 18 however I do not take BC pills. I have had the same sex partner for 2 years and the white discharge started around my senior year. I got tested, he got tested and everything came out negative. Everyone I talk to says it may be due to the lack of sleep and all of the stress i endure. I was afraid that I was the only one like this. It is a very uncomfortable feeling and I am so self-conscious about it. |

hey guys, i'm 18, sexually active with many different partners, and on birth control (and IUD). I have taken the pill before in high school, on two separate occasions and both times i was unhappy because it seemed to throw off my hormonal balence, more than it helped it. for a while i wasn't using any birth control besides regular condom use, still with the same number of partners. now that I've got the IUD i'm set for 10 years and only use condoms with men I don't know well...Okay, so that's my sexual history.
It seems to me, that a lot of the girls on this thread are simply overreacting. I've had two yeast infections in my life. One when i was 17 right after having unprotected sex, and the second when I was 18 just kinda outta the blue. It's VERY EASY to spot. discharge makes the vaginal area ridiculously messy, and you DO itch. a lot. until you think you might just die. lol.
what I'm getting from most of the girls, is that you have a riddiculous amount of discharge, day-to-day. regardless of weather you're sexually active or not. and with NO itching or soreness, or irritation of any kind. All I can say is...me f@#$^&* too.
I mean, i read this whole thread and I'm exactally the same. I have constant discharge, it's annoying, but reality. usually it's snot, or mucus like and clear-ish. after my period it get's thicker, like lotion and always white. I read one post that said she had something around her clitoris. I experienced that as well. I did some research and deduced that it could simply mean you're not cleaning well enough in your vaginal area. The skin in your "downstairs" secreats natural oils to keep healthy, however if there are a buildup of oils that have not been washed away gently with soap and water, then you may get some strange looking accumulation around the clitoris. not a big deal, just remember to wash.
I've had the regular excessive discharge for years. Even before i hit puberty. When i was a kid, i just washed my underwear a lot. Didn't really care, anyway. When i started regular periods, I often found myself slipping in a tampon just to ease the flow of discharge, especially if I didn't want to ruin my favorite pair of panties. So, I would suggest doing that if it's REALLY bothering you. some of you might worry about toxic-shock syndrome, but if you use tampons for your period and you've never experienced a set-back, it's perfectly safe. just remember not to keep it in like all day. get small ones and change them twice a day at least, I'd say. and POOF, problem solved. nothin' on your underwear, no feelings of wetness.
the only real problem with this method, for all you sexually active ladies out there, is you MUST anticipate sex. no surprise sexual encounters unless you want to worry about getting a tampon lodged in you're vaginal canal or not being wet enough to take. So make sure to plan ahead. If you think you'll probably have sex with him later, take out the tampon, clean yourself gently, and change your underwear about an hour before. Then you'll be perfect, and hopefully you're excitement about sex and wettness will negate the other more constant discharge.
you girls take it easy. sorry this post was so long, but i had a lot to relate. you really shouldn't work yourselves up about this stuff. I've been tested several times, and all came back negative. just do some research. and RELAX. you're a woman. we have to make sacrafices since we're the vessels of humanity. lol. But it's definately not worth worrying about constantly. be resourcefull. and you'll learn to live with it.
good luck! |

I had the same problem it bactial vaginous (not spelled right) I have had it off and on for about 10 years now. Some women only get it once get the meds and it takes care of it for good. THen there are women like me who get it all the time. I have narrowed mine down to the fact the when my husband does not wear a condom and get off in me the smell and discarge cames back. It when the Ph in your body changes it causes a bactiral infection in the vagina. It can be cause from so many things. You just have to find out if having sex and sperm makes it worse. If so then you always need to use protection with this person. |

Hello there.
I am 17 years old and no, I am not a virgin. I have occasionally had discharge before, but it was no big deal. Recently, it has been constant and feels more embarrassing. There is no itching, irritation, whatever. Just the discharge which recently has been as heavy as my period. I do not understand the sudden change. About a month ago I tried taking BC, loestrin 24, which did not agree with me, and I stopped taking it. It has not affected me in any way since I stopped. Every time I have had sex it has been protected, and I know for a fact that neither guy had an STD. I also have not had sex in about two months. Therefore, I do not see how any of those factors could effect this and why it suddenly became a big problem.
Any ideas? |

| The same thing has been happening to me except the discharge has a distinct smell. Sort of like vinegar, as my boyfriend describes it, but I only notice it during sex. Does anyone know what this could be? |
