As odd as it sounds, the best thing I have found is straightening out the small hoop of a paper clip and using the hoop. It acts like a little scooper and plops them out. My daughter has these things all the time. They are HUGE and smelly!!! When you poke or scrape them, they usually break and thats just sooooooo nasty. We tried everything we could to come up with an easy way to remove them. One day I got tired of her scratching the back of her throat with her nails, so I looked around for something at home. The paperclip worked great. The plastic coated ones seem more safe! Hope that helps anyone trying to think of something to use to scrape the suckers out! Use at your own risk tho!!! SometimesI don't know how a kid with near dime size nasty things in her tonsils can even talk! |

I had a fever the other night, felt really ill.
My toncil swelled really big yesterday, felt like a lump in my neck too.
And today at tea time I looked in the mirror at it, and there was a white ball on it, and now a few hours later is different shaped and I coughed on purpose and a a dot of blood aappeared.
I dare not touch it though, I have a doctors appointment in two days, will it affect me???
Should I pull it out?? |

|
|
| I was convinced that I had puss on my throat and I had tonsilitis or something. After the symptoms had still not gone away after 3 months, I did an internet search. I came up with this website and I feel so much better after reading all of the other posts. I must have tonsil stones, it is exactly as everyone else described it. I always used to push the stones out with q-tips. But tonight I had a really stubborn one and nothing worked. Until I read about the tweezers. Thanks!!!! It works great and was relatively less painful than q-tip pushing. Although it did bleed as some others had mentioned and that has never happened before. Maybe it was just because this particular one was so stubborn that the crypt bled, or maybe it is something more serious. In any case I will definitely get an app. with an ENT doc. very soon! |

|
|
| I'm 36 now and have had these since before I was 15 (first time I distinctly remember). I can feel them with the back of my tongue, my mouth always tastes horrible, and I use Q-Tips every day to remove them. I just called an ENT guy and am going to have him remove my tonsils. I'm tired of dealing with this. Eventually there's just always a dull level of discomfort from stabbing at them so much. |

| I find these stones every week. I usually use a Q-Tip to get them out, and then rinse and gargle with warm salted water. |

| Have your Tonsils removed,as once they start giving problems it never stops....always comes back. They can also make you feel sick later on and they can cause a very sore throught and fever.Tonsils have to be removed when they are constantly sore and infalmed,as they are toxic for your system. You will feel much better in general once they are history..They older you get the bigger process it is to remove them, and the more painful it becomes. |

| Your throat will remain inflamed and sore if you don’t have them removed... |

| I feel for you all. I just had this huge one sticking it's head out of my tonsil, and i finally gagged it out and it left a f@#$^&* crater. theres still a few more in there hidden behind the flabs. This has been going on for about six years and i wish i could just get them removed. |
