I too get tonsil stones... often, but today I had something that upset me a bit more. I had white spots covering the majority of my tonsils and rash all over my body... My doctor prescribed an antibiotic... but so far it's just getting worse. The itching is unbearable, and making it hard to sleep...
Do you think it really is tonsillitis? This is the third time I've had "tonsillitis" and it's never been this bad, and I've never had a rash with it... Should I be worried about anything other than the sleep deprivation? |

Having been sick with cancer for about four years now, as soon as my oncologist saw the "tonsil stone" he wanted an immediate biopsy. He said the majority are benign problems but since I am a former smoker he wants to make sure it is NOT cancer there. The otolaryngologist says it's nothing to worry about....says many peeps get them, but they just dig them out. Call me lazy, but he's taking that bad boy outta there. |

| I talked to my doctor about them. They are normal. He said my tonsils were more rough than most people and they collect junk from food, etc. I didn't ask him what to do about it. He did say it would contribute to bad breath. Mouthwash and good oral hygine helps. I use a wet Q-tip to get the things out. That helps prevent the bleeding. I'm sure the tonsils bleed because they are so sensitive and the lining is thin. |

| I get tonsillitis regularly and I can practically diagnose myself now I always get a fever , can’t swallow more than a drop of water so end up loosing a lot of weight and having no energy and just to make things that bit worse when put on antibiotics I get thrush. The white spots can also be ulcers which makes it ten times more painful. I tend to use Oraldean mouth wash and Difflam throat spray to ease the pain they work well and if the problem is caught early I find they help speed up the recovery. |

| I've had these on and off for about the last 15 years! It's harmless, but they can sometimes occur right before or right after a cold. It can cause soreness and it is not uncommon for your tonsils to bleed after scraping them out. One thing I can say is that my tonsils have stayed enlarged ever since the first occurence, but I have had no issues with that. |

| take a sterile q-tip and press gently around the area that is full of the stuff. It will then ooze it. |
