Posted: 04/20/06 - 05:58 Post subject: White discharge from lumps in scrotum area. |
|
|
| I was itching around my scrotum just a few minutes ago and my fingers slipped pass a lump right in between where my thigh meet my pelvis. So I decided to look at it in the mirror and saw that it was a lump under neath my skin just like it felt. So I began to poke, and squeez on it thinking maybe it's a pimple. So I finnaly "pop" it....but what comes out is a bit different from what the normal. What came out was a very dry, and think white discharge, some had blood in it to. It almost has the texture wet bread without the dampness. I "poped" three of these things, and i'm a bit concerned. Could this possible be a STD of some kind? Or is this normal for males? |

It was probably a sebaceous cyst. They may form anyplace there are hairs, as they are lets say inflamed hair folicules. They are just like pimples, have white stuff inside, which is sebum, a secretion of a sweat gland.
Testicles are prone to such bumps because there’s usually a moist and warm area down there in the underwear, so these kinds of bumps are likely to appear.
I get them from time to time and I usually just squeeze them out and then they disappear. It is said that they should not be squuezeed because it could lead to an infection and that they may go away on its own, but the temptation of squeezing is too big and I can’t resist it.
Anyway, I am not aware of any STD’s looking like that. You usually get penile discharge, burning, pain, itchiness, blisters (in herpes), or warts but any of these pop.
If the lump persist, you can always see an urologist and I think it is just a sebaceous cyst. |

| I have had this for 2 months now, and not getting any better, some of my co-workers have said they have had the same problem, the itching, and told me they used Lotrimin ultra and it cleared it up. i went out and bought the same. Now for the first month or so, i have not had any of the white zit looking things, just very red, itchy, raw skin all around the shaft, and scrotum, but the past week and a half of using this stuff, i now have the bumps and some extremely major itching, and raw! I'm swolloing my pride and seeking medical help monday..but this is only Saturday! I need relief!!! |

In response to the original post - many people have been misdiagnosing themselves with sebaceous glands when in fact the bumps may be caused by moluscum which has similar side effects to sebaceous glands.
My advice would be to go see a physician or dermatologist and figure out for sure what it is you have down there. If it is moluscum, your best bet is going to be freezing them with liquid nitrogen. A couple of treatments and they will clear up.
Good luck.
