Why do I need excessive sleep?

Hi. I am 24 years old, and I consider myself a good sleeper. I like to sleep and I feel great when I do. But how much do I need to sleep. Why is it so good to sleep few extra hours?

Well, it depends of the quality of the sleep. For instance, 6 hours of uninterupted sleep, is better than 10 of interupted one. Napoleon advocated 'six hours of sleep for a man, seven for a woman, and eight for a fool' He he. But it all matters from the quality of sleep.
