Wife has very swollen feet and ankles ; very painfull to walk

They are becoming extremely swollen (feet and ankles). Can not walk properly anymore as they are to painfull. She is also feeling out of sorts.

Can you maybe give me an idea waht we should be lookin at.

It is hard to say why your wife’s legs and ankles are swelling because you didn’t give us much information about your wife’s age, general health, weight, etc
If she is pregnant, some swelling is normal but not being able to walk due to swelling is certainly a doctor matter.
Such extreme swelling could occur in diabetes patients, heart problems, being overweight, liver problems, kidney failure and I would suggest you took her to ER if the swelling occurred suddenly and is getting bigger.
Her legs could be swelling because of deep vein thrombosis that usually develops in a lower leg. We can make all sorts of suggestions here but you won’t know anything for sure unless she is checked by a doc.

ITS LIKELY SHE HAS LYMPHEDEMA OF THE LEGS
