I am planning on loosing my virginity in couple weeks with my bf of 6 months, and I'm anxious about the bleeding thing. Some of my friends say I'll bleed, others say that I may have already torn my hymen so I may not. I've used large tampons before, and when I was younger, I fell on my crotch (yes, indeed >.<) Also my bf has fingered me, and I was sometimes a little sore, but theres never been blood. If I haven't torn my hymen, will there be a lot of blood? Should I put a towel down? I'm not really nervous about it hurting too much. There was a time once when we got a little carried away and there was a little penetration- and little discomfort. Also is there anything else I should take into consideration? I've started the pill, and we'll probably use a condom. Thanks so much for any input- I want to be as informed as possible!

Your friends are right - you may or may not bleed... but the important thing is that you be safe when doing it as there are a lot of sexually transmitted diseases you can get from having sex...not really to lecture but there is a virus called HPV that you can get even if you use a condom... it can affect you or it may not - there are a lot of types of this virus and there are no cures for this, not really - your body will heal itself from it but there are many cases that it leads to giving warts to both men and women or worse cervical cancer for women...

Please make sure that this is really what you want...if so, just enjoy the experience rather than being scared...

Thank you....yes I am very ready, I've been giving it a lot of thought. I know it's a bit stupid saying this....but I'm hesitant to use a codom. I know tha he wants to be safe, so that's not an issue. I just think I would enjoy it more without. I'm on the pill, and I'm confident that he's clean. He's not been sexually active for at least a year, and has always been very good about safety. My friends adn everyone keep telling me to use a condom too...and I know it's safest- but I still don't want to! thoughts? Rolling Eyes Shocked

I also prefer not using a condom cause I enjoy it better...just make sure you are drinking your pills properly otherwise you'll find yourself with a baby nine months after... they say the safest way is after you've been drinking pills for more than 3months...not really sure about that...

Actually, the failure rate of "the pill" (pregnancy rate) is directly related to inconsistencies with the self-administration of the pill itself. It is incredibly important to take your pill at the same time EVERY DAY, in a 5-minute window, and keep that pattern. Messing with your period timing also leads to unexpected pregnancy.

It is impossible to get pregnant if a deposit of semen occurs within TEN DAYS of the first day of your period. That leaves a window of 2 or 3 days after your flow stops, when sex is SAFE.

Happy sex, and enjoy your bodies!

OK a good movie to see is "Juno" if you have not seen it, if so see it again... there are other of forms birth control out there, the diaphram, female condoms, IUD's, sterilization, the problems with having unprotected intercouse is;
1) becoming pregnate that lasts a life time, with or without the child
2) STD some can last a life time but may shorten it also &
3) HIV/AIDS that surely last a life time and shorten your life!!!
you - that is your choose to make, we just wish to tell you about what can happen!!! a lot of us on here can tell you first hand about some of these, and can show you others to talk to.
so about bleeding on your frist time having penile intercouse, I see low on the list.
Just have a clean towel to lay on and discard after use, water based lube to use during your encounter and maxi pad with some clean change of clothes and a place to shower to clean yourself up afterwards --- and don't forget the condom and to use it.....

Yes I am a little mean today to her and about this... but every teen boy & girl should carry some condoms with them and us them every time.
