Will Taking Amoxicillin effect YAZ???!?!

I went to my GYNO on monday. I wanted to go on "the pill" so, he put me on YAZ. But, I got my period the last Friday. Since I couldnt start YAZ on the first day of my period or on the Sunday after my period, my doctor told me to take two pills on monday. I did research on YAZ and I found out that it takes 7 days to work effectively. Is this true?

Also...I have been on Amoxicillin since Tuesday, the week before I went to the GYNO. I heard that taking antibiotics can effect YAZ. Is this true? and if it is...how long should I wait before I have sex?

It takes 7 full days for Birth control to work, UNLESS you start the pill while you are on your period.

You need to wait to have UNPROTECTED sex until 7 days after you stop the amoxicillin.
