My father has small blood clot in coronary artery. His doctor prescribed to him some anticoagulant to reduce the risk of abnormal clotting. I’m afraid because I know that blood clots in coronary artery may cause heart attack. Will a blood clot always cause problems if not treated in time?

Well, complications posed by an abnormal blood clot depend on the size and its location. It’s very important to treat blood clot because it can cause heart attack, as you said. If blood clot is just under skin, serious complications are rare but if the clot occurs in a deep vein, the risk of serious complications is greater.
