Hello. Last weekend, my girlfriend had a little too much to drink (happens rarely), took some Ibuprofen before she went to bed (along with her BCP), and an hour and a half later, vomitted profusely from the comingling chemicals. I'm concerned that the pill didn't fully dissolve and/or that her body didn't absorb the hormones intime. So my questions are:
How long does it take for the pill to dissolve and the hormones to become active in the body?
Will vomitting decrease the efficacy of the pill, especially within the time frame of an hour and a half?
Would there be a negative interaction between pain relievers (acetaminophen, asprin, ibuprofen) and BCPs?
She isn't concerned (I'm the one who thought to ask). And we haven't had sex yet, so pregnancy is not a worry. But I'd like some info before we do. And also, just to get a better idea of where the pill's strengths and weeknesses are. Thanks in advance! |
