Hi, wisdom teeth are taken out if you are at high risk of developing complications. Your dentist will determine if it is necessary to be done. Some people prefer to take out all wisdom teeth at once. If you have any infections, surgery will usually be delayed until you are completely healthy. Your doctor may prescribe you some antibiotics to help heal the infection. Local anesthesia is given to prevent pain. But, in some cases also general anesthetic may be used, if several or all of your wisdom teeth will be removed at the same time. You will be given advice not to eat or drink after midnight on the night before surgery, to be prepared for the anesthetic.
