Yes I know that sherlock!! But he never fully penetrated was my point. Unlike many girls on this post I am a 3o year old mother of 2 with several Msters Degrees including Biology thank you very much, I was only trying to put the wording out to match the level of many of the girls that seem to be posting. But thank you for the insight. This is the last time I post on this site apparently this is an audience that wants only to take what they want from a post .
Sincerely

| I didn't mean to offend, but I have answered many people asking if they have lost their virginity from masterbation etc and thought I would clarify. |

| ok well isnt it true that some people ovulate during, right before, or right after menstruation, because i know my aunt couldnt get pregnant any other time than when she was in the middle of menstruation, but my main question is... the day after i came off of my period i had sex, then on the next day after having intercourse with no source of birth control, not even pulling out, i began ovulating, i know because my urine was blurry like it always is when i am ovulating, thats how i know i am, and i have not had the blurry urine since that day, june 27th, and have not had an actual period, other than a bright red, not as heavy as usual, but a little heavy, then it turned dark brown on day 5 and stopped, that was 14 days after having intercourse, since had not had a period, until 35 days later i have been having brown discharge, but no period, so is that pregnancy or something else? because i dont have symptoms, except i get sharp pains in breast around nipple and top of breast, and every now and then i get a little nausea but nothing major, and it doesnt happen very frequently, so what do you think? |

I am here more for the support factor, I am planning to get pregnant in the next year. I also think a vast majority of us here know about protection and what can get you pregnant but I suppose a refresher for those in need of it doesnt hurt.
For the person asking about the HCG test. Your doctor probably used the qualitative test just to check to see if there were any detectable levels. You can always request another test but they would probably do the qualitative to check to see if HCG is in the blood, neither test is more sensitive than the other they just measure different things. However, when I was pregnant the first time my levels of HCG rose very slowly my pregnancy was a healthy one and everything turned out fine here are some more HCG facts you may find useful or just interesting:
About 85% of normal pregnancies will have the hCG level double every 48 - 72 hours. As you get further along into pregnancy and the hCG level gets higher, the time it takes to double can increase to about every 96 hours.
Caution must be used in making too much of hCG numbers. A normal pregnancy may have low hCG levels and deliver a perfectly healthy baby. The results on an ultrasound after 5 - 6 weeks gestation are much more accurate than using hCG numbers.
An hCG level of less than 5mIU/ml is considered negative for pregnancy, and anything above 25mIU/ml is considered positive for pregnancy.
hCG is measured in milli-international units per milliliter (mIU/ml).
A transvaginal ultrasound should be able to see at least a gestational sac once the hCG levels have reached between 1,000 - 2,000mIU/ml. Because levels can differentiate so much and conception dating can be wrong, a diagnosis should not be made by ultrasound findings until the level has reached at least 2,000.
A single hCG reading is not enough information for most diagnoses. When there is a question regarding the health of the pregnancy, multiple testings of hCG done a couple of days apart give a more accurate look at assessing the situation.
hCG levels should not be used to date a pregnancy since these numbers can vary so widely.
There are two common types of hCG tests. A qualitative hCG test just looks to see if hCG is present in the blood. A quantitative hCG test (or beta hCG) measures the amount of hCG actually present in the blood.
HCG guidelines during pregnancy:
3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml
7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml
9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml
13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml
17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml
25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml
Non-pregnant females: <5.0 mIU/ml
Postmenopausal: <9.5 mIU/ml
Levels rise differently in different women and different pregnancies so the numbers are just a guideline, more importance is placed on the change of levels than the measurment of the level itself.

| oK im very intrested on your responce for this, my girl friend and i have bin dateing for about half a year and yes we have bin sexualy active and she was still a vergin when we had sexual intercource. We use condoms ALL the time and make sure we always do..... or we do nothing at all without them. but there seems to be a small or maybe big problem now tho, she is about a week late and we are very concerned about it. She has bin complaining about VERY sharp pains right about where right overy is, she has seen her gynecologist and they are not entirly sure yet about it so she is schedualed for a blood test and ultrasound very soon. She Also sayes her breast are some what tender but the pain is very unbarable tho and she also does coplain about a slight back pain. she has had a very Slight bleeding at most as much as a paper cut ....and has bin a little dizy with head ackes, we have done our resarch and these seem to be all symptoms of pregnancy but the doctor did state it can be a cyst that has bin growing for quite a while and now has backed up her fallopian tube... im not entirely sure and she has always said for about a year there has bin a slight disconfert there, her lower abdomen is also a bit bloated and very hard, PLEASE IF ANY ONE CAN RELATE OR HAS ANY IDEA please post. We are just very Worrried!! if u can Reply as SOOOON as posible it would be great!! Thank you! |

For a woman of your described stature, you would think you would spell environmental correctly, but just like sex, nothing is 100% |

Dear crzyfl,
Do you happen to know the accuracy of home pregnancy tests taken weeks and months (up to three months) after the "predicted" day of what should have been a missed period? If many have been taken periodically and they are all negative, is it pretty safe to say there is no pregnancy? |
