I'm in the middle of my second pack of Yaz, everything was going well...I haven't gained any weight, I'm not getting zits, and my cramps were a lot better when I got my period. However, I've always been the type of person to be able to control my moodiness (I only got slightly short tempered a couple of days before my period would start). But now I cry a lot...and when I drink a moderate amount of alcohol (I'm 25 y/o) I turn into a crazy maniac. My boyfriend and I rarely fight but he said last night, he thought he was going to have to call a priest for an exorcism. Before Yaz, if I would occasionally get drunk I would be happy...now I think everyone is treating me badly, or my boyfriend isn't talking to me nicely and I have HUGE crying spells.

I would just stop the pill, and or stay away from alcohol...but it's the first BCP that I like, and I'm not sure YAZ is the culpret...I also started on Wellbutrin to help me quit smoking, and Lisinopril for my blood pressure around the same time as YAZ...

So I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, as I have...I read some people were having crying spells, and mood swings...but does it get ten thousand times worse with alcohol????

Help - Evil or Very Mad =YAZ + ALCOHOL????

My doctor prescribed Yaz for me to help deal with some premenopausal symptoms I've been having. At the end of my 3rd week of my 1st pack i started experiencing severe anxiety and insomnia, I thought I was going to come out of my skin! I'm already feeling a lot less anxiety just 1 day after stopping it. It was reassuring to read that I am not the only one to have this kind of reaction. I have taken other OCP's in the past and have NEVER had this happen, it was very scary.

I am on my third pack of Yaz. A few days ago I came to the conclusion that this new BC that my doc prescribed me must be the giving me problems. No sex drive, uncontrollable weight gain ( meaning I eat fairly healthy and go to the gym on a regular basis and continue to add pounds) mood swings, mild headaches, cramping, need I go on? I am relieved to find that I am not alone and it is the medicine. My only question now is what do I do for my PMDD? Any suggestions? Thanks!

I’m on my last row of my first pack of Yaz. I missed one pill, b/c I dropped it and couldn’t find it. I had sex the next day we did use protection. The next week I started to spot and have not even began the white pills. For a few days I was feeling nauseated and I couldn’t really eating anything. But I think I was depressed b/c of a guy situation. I am concerned that I’m still bleeding lightly and I haven’t started my period. I’m on Yaz b/c I was diagnose with cyst and also on Metaformin to help loose weight. Maybe the bleeding is a part of all that I don’t know. I was going to weight until I finished my pack of pills and if I was still bleeding to call my doctor. B/c I do not want to bleed or lightly bleed everyday. That’s just crazy.

Thank god I found this site! I've been on Yaz since February. I got it to clear up my skin, which it definately has, but it has also affected other things for the worse. The first week I was horrible, I was cussing out people left and right. I don't feel that I have been the same person since. I get horrible anxiety attacks and the worst depression. I always feel like something's wrong with me, became a hypochrondriac--constantly feeling that I have to visit the doctor, or someone's out to get me. I'm quitting today. Acne was a horrible part of my life, but it's not worth sacrificing my personality. Hopefully there is another answer to acne, like a better face wash or something.

I just finished my first month of YAZ birth control and 2 weeks ago i was rushed to the emergency room from work. My gyn had told me it will help with pains i have in my side and back during that time of the month well i noticed those pains got ALOT worse so bad i started vomiting and HYPROVENTALATED from the pain bc it had gotten so bad! I had to be rushed to the ER it was so terrible. I felt so faint , depressed , alot of acne breakouts, so much more pain. I was in bed for 3 weeks straight. I went so long without eating i lost my appetite. Im finished with the pill ive never had them problems. Im thinking of asking my gyn monday at my 8:00am appointment for LOESTRIN 24 ? is it any good , any opinions would be great and id appreciate it , i had no idea yaz was so terrible. ******if ANYONE has any suggestions what kind of pill to take id appreciate it alot. Thanks.

I am currently on my 3rd month of Yaz... and I haven't experienced any bad side effects. I'm actually on it because I have excess testoserone and have been dealing with severe acne, some hair in unwanted places, mail balding patterns, depression, etc. Yaz has helped tremendously with my skin and is slowly but surely helping with my unwanted hair growth. I am no longer depressed since starting this pill.. i'm actually happier than ever and feel like a normal person again. I'm sorry to hear about all these horrible side effects people have been experiencing Sad Different strokes for different folks I suppose!

I have been on Yaz for a week now and I feel better emotionally. I am replacing the Mirena IUD with Yaz and so far this seems so much better. My skin is clearing up and my moods are much better. I think every bc pill has different positives and negatives for every person. I hated the IUD and I have 3 friends that love it. Medication is not something to make general comments about because it can scare people.
